Hi! My name is Raddie, I am Bulgarian and I currenly live in Varna with my amazing husband - Nikki and our precious daughter Anita, who is now 15 months old (as of 06.2011) This is where I share my personal thoughts and culinary discoveries with the hope that they could somehow be of use to others.
I have no culinary education as such (I am a professional translator/interpreter), I rely merely on my palate and personal opinion as to what taste is best combined with another one. I strive for better nutrition, good eating habits and a joy in taste and good food. To me good food is healthy and tasty, and prepared with lots of joy and a desire to be creative. Cooking to me is an art that unifies both physical and psycological senses and needs. I have recently been fascinated by raw cuisine and I feel drawn to implement more and more of its teachings into our lifestyle. I don't yet believe in going completely raw as a whole, though I fully support the belief that there is nothing better for us to eat than nuts, fruit and veg. Who knows, I might get to that 'completely raw' stage one day. For now I try to adhere to as many principles as I can and certainly try to stick to the motto - 'why cook it, if it tastes so nice raw?'.
Part of the idea behind this project (the blog) is to gather information and ideas for a dream of mine, namely one day to have a small "fast food" bar/shop where people can find some healthy food on their way which they could enjoy with a smile. Unfortunately for the time being I can only see this happening somewere abroad, most likely in the UK. It might be seen as weird that this blog should be in Bulgarian then. Some time in the near future I hope to be able to make an English version oriented specifically towards a future cafe/sandwich shop/salad bar which would strive to offer its friends some good, honest food.
If you have ideas about such a venture, have anything to say about what I share or are interested in investing in anything like that, drop me a line. I shall very much like to hear from you. You are most welcome! :-)
